The vision of the Women’s Ministry of NRBC is to equip the women of Nansemond River Baptist Church to grow in their relationship with Jesus, through Bible study, fellowship and ministry, enabling them to become all they are meant to be in Christ. In addition, it is our goal to reach out to other women in the community, showing them the love and grace of Jesus, so they may place their faith in Him as their Lord and Savior.

For Ladies: Beginning February 24

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) began in 1973 when eight young mothers spent time sharing mothering tips, making friendships, and giving each other support and spiritual guidance. Little did they know, more than 25 years later, this small group would expand to the International organization that it is today.
* Purpose: The purpose of MOPS is to nurture all Mothers of Preschoolers by meeting their distinct needs to the glory of Jesus Christ. MOPS provides a Christ centered, caring ministry for expectant mothers through mothers of kindergartners. This promotes the development of friendships, creativity and personal relationships with Jesus Christ.
* Meetings: There are currently two MOPS groups at Nansemond River Baptist Church which meet from September through May:
- Tuesday Morning (1st & 3rd) from 9:15 - 11:30 a.m.
- Friday Morning (1st & 3rd) from 9:15 - 11:30 a.m.
* What to Expect: MOPS meetings include Moppets, a quality children's program; a time for learning how to be a more nurturing mother, led by our MOPS Mentor and guest speakers; discussion group time where friendships are made, ideas are discussed, plans for outings are made and encouragement is given; a craft time where you will learn a hands on craft or demonstration of a craft; a time to socialize have refreshments and meet other moms; celebrations of birthdays, new pregnancies, births and adoptions.
