We have been given the command to “go and make disciples of all nations.” This command does not come in one form or another. We are given flexibility and freedom in doing so. Sports are one of the greatest avenues in which we build, develop, and nurture relationships. This is even true of the Olympics. Every four years we celebrate either the winter or summer Olympics, and every four years, the “nations” come together for one common purpose: compete through sports.
Nansemond River Sports and Recreation seeks to share the love of Christ with nonbelievers and develop continued relationships with believers. We do this by creating, planning, and implementing a variety of sports interests, clinics, teams, and events.
Join us as we seek to bring God glory through sports and recreation.

"Do you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's"
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
The only equipment you need is a pedometer, good walking shoes and your log book. You will receive encouragement from others through monthly accountability meetings, Bible studies and periodic emails. You will receive weekly walking tips to encourage overall health and fitness.

Ultimate Frisbee Club
Sundays at 3:30 p.m.
NRBC Fields
Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of Ultimate is played by two seven-player squads with a high-tech plastic disc on a field similar to football. The object of the game is to score by catching a pass in the opponent’s end zone. Ultimate is a transition game in which players move quickly from offense to defense on turnovers that occurs with a dropped pass, an interception, or a pass out of bounds.
Ultimate is governed by “Spirit of the Game,” a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players rather than the referees. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries worldwide and involves families, men, women, girls, and boys. www.upa.org
Males and females over 14 are invited to join us (bring non-metal cleats) on Sundays at 3:30 p.m. Contact Ken Hirlinger at kenhirlinger@aol.com for more information.
