Doing Battle in Prayer

What is “Watchmen On The Wall?” The book of Nehemiah records that after the governor led the people to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem, the enemy immediately attempted to stop the work. They used temptation, accusation, fear, and threats. As a result, Nehemiah positioned watchmen on the wall to guard against the enemy’s attacks. Nehemiah records: “[Our enemies] conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night… Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.” (Nehemiah 4:8-9,17) That’s Watchmen On The Wall.

For NRBC, it will be life on the battlefield. It will be seeking God’s face and His favor… praying for ourselves… interceding for one another… and, praying His will into our lives and into the life of the church.

It will take place every day, every hour, and every minute without a break. In the early hours of the morning, there will be praying. In the late hours of the night, there will be praying. All day… every day!

Now, how can that be? It will happen when the members of NRBC unite in a concerted effort to bathe all that we do in prayer by every participant praying at least one 15 minute segment each week. That’s 672 people praying 15 minutes at a particular time every week. Each will choose his time and maintain his/her schedule… once a week… 15 minutes a week!

And, how will we pray? We will pray for those on our personal prayer list… those on the church prayer list… urgent needs transmitted to all participants by EMAIL… and as led by the Holy Spirit while spending an important time alone with God… on the spiritual battlefield… in prayer!

The Army advertises that they are looking for a few good men. Well, God’s army is taking enlistments! The battle is already raging and the enemy is using his temptations, accusations, fear, and threats. The trumpet is sounding and the army is assembling. Will you help man the wall?
